$3,000 signing/retention bonus for the 2023-24 school year!

Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
  • Teach Grade 7 Music Enrichment, Grade 8 Music Enrichment, Grade 7 Integrated Arts – Music, Grade 8 Steel Band, Grade 8 Beginning Guitar
  • Help develop and monitor music students Creative Learning Plans (CLP)
  • Help administer auditions and portfolio reviews for incoming students to the CAA
  • Show evidence of operating as a team player
  • Show evidence of energy/commitment
  • Demonstrate a willingness to “showcase” student/school accomplishments
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work with support groups and guidance counselors in on-going student assessment and assistance
  • Have a good knowledge of vocal, instrumental music theory and piano techniques
  • Relate well to middle school students
  • Effectively communicate with parents and staff
  • Provide content for the CAA Website
  • Assist with CAA culminating events and performances
  • Attend all professional development at the CAA and District level
  • Have knowledge of National Core Arts Standards
  • Successful candidate must possess strong inter-personal skills with a proven record of building rapport with culturally diverse students to ensure each child reaches their full potential
  • Good attendance and punctuality are a must to ensure that the duties and responsibilities of the job are performed successfully
  • Endorsement Required: [144] or [145]

Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV Yes No)
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairs
  • Must be able to stand for a period of time
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull 50 lbs.

Special Qualification Desired: (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)
  • Three years of successful teaching experience
  • Computer/technology knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge of “arts integration” as a teaching methodology
