What you will be doing
The Pharmacy Licensing Specialist will assist the pharmacy compliance department with licensing for Albertsons Companies pharmacy facilities. The duties of the Pharmacy Licensing Specialist job focus on tasks and/or work that are unique to the pharmacy compliance department and require knowledge and skills that are beyond what are required for general office work. The Licensing Specialist, reporting to the Pharmacy Licensing Supervisor, will work alongside a second Pharmacy Licensing Specialist with a sense of purpose and urgency to ensure new applications and pharmacy staff change requests are handled in an appropriate and timely manner.
This position may be based in any Albertsons Companies U.S. Corporate or Division Offices or Hybrid (remote/office) but preference is given to our Boise, Idaho location. Relocation will not be offered.
Main responsibilities
- Prepare and process forms and applications required to obtain licensure for lawful operation of the company’s pharmacies.
- Prepare and process forms and applications required to obtain DEA registration .
- Prepare and submit all notices required by regulatory authorities to maintain valid pharmacy licenses, permits, and registrations and avoid sanctions.
- Coordinate with the pharmacy compliance team to demonstrate appropriate licensure for purposes of regulatory inspections and required accreditations.
- Maintain a centralized licensing repository for pharmacy licenses.
- Prepare and coordinate the issuance of powers of attorney and principal coordinator credentials required by the DEA.
- Develop and implement efficient processes for submitting CSOS applications for DEA
- Prepare and process check requests and related approvals required to remit payment of fees and related expenses for pharmacy licenses, permits, registrations, and other required credentials.
- Responsible for setting up, monitoring, and implementing reminder system for CMEA certification and renewal tracking.
- Coordinate with pharmacy functional groups for new pharmacy set-up including ensuring new stores have licenses and supplies needed to open in compliant manner.
- Work well within a team environment with the Director, Supervisor, specialists, and other operation and functional group leaders.
- Ensures compliance for all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
The salary range is $42,200.00 to $58,080.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
- Two-year college degree or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of licensing requirement at Federal and State level preferred.
- Work autonomously, handle projects under deadline pressures and set priorities effectively.
- Ability to complete work with a minimum of supervision under rigid time constraints.
- Honest and trustworthy, exhibiting sound business ethics.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% for cross-training and in-person meetings.
