Job description

The Medical Provider is responsible for providing direct patient care of all ages (infants to geriatrics). This position is full-time, year-round within our rural health care clinic.

This role must be able to effectively diagnose and provide therapeutic treatments for a wide range of patient needs. Our ideal candidate is comfortable working independently and autonomously and uses their critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to quickly assess and begin treatment for patients and/or refer to higher-level care through the on-site Emergency Department. Responsibilities will include the creation of accurate record of physical findings, formulation of treatment plan and prognosis based on patient condition, and the ability to provide home instruction. The ability to order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests is essential. This role will also include prescribing and recommending medications or other forms of treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensure to practice in the State of South Dakota and inclusive of all ages.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Ability to consistently provide a friendly, welcoming, and professional demeanor.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication skills (including oral, written, and listening).
• Strong documentation and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, flexible, and able to make sound judgment calls independently.
• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. without assistance and lift/move weights beyond 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to work in a confidential manner.
• Reliable and timely with work schedule.
• Flexible and willing to accept other duties as assigned.
