Summary:

Physician – Nocturnist – HSHS Medical Group / HSHS St. John's Hospital - Springfield, Illinois


HSHS Medical Group is recruiting a BC/BE Nocturnist Physician (FM and IM will both be considered) for our inpatient services team at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. HSHS Medical Group works in partnership with Hospital Sisters Health System.

Position Requirements
  • Unrestrictive Illinois license prior to start
  • Board Certified or Board Eligibility
  • 2+ years of prior practicing experience is preferred, but not required.
Position Details
  • 7pm - 7am scheduled with traditional 7 on, 7 off schedule - total of 184 scheduled shifts per fiscal year
  • Nocturnists are required to work 168 shifts per fiscal year
    • It is the physician's choice between the three below options:
      • Work the full 7 on, 7 off schedule and earn extra income for the 14 shifts above the 168 shift requirement
      • Coordinate with the practice manager to remove 2 weeks from the 7 on schedule to reduce the shifts down from 182 shifts to the required 168 shifts.
      • Do a combination of the two above options to work some extra shifts with extra compensation for those extra shifts without working the full 14 extra shifts.

Qualifications:
Education
Clinical doctorate is required.

Experience
Competence in delivery of healthcare services for adolescents, adults and geriatric patients is required.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Licensed physician in the state of practice is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
Maintain a Controlled Substance license for the state and Federal DEA, when applicable to their specialty.
Must have successfully completed, or in the process of completing, an accredited residency program.
Must be board certified or board eligible.
