Job Summary:

Flame our 1950s wood fired pizza truck is looking for a qualified pizza chef, quality artisanal pizza is at the heart of what we do. We source and utilize the best local products, add this to our great sourdough pizza dough and we have a recipe for success.

What you should bring to the table, passion, organizations skills, knowledge of wood burning ovens, leadership product knowledge and the best customer service in the south.

Flame is open seven nights a week serving the membership of Palmetto Bluff and large special events.

Essential Job Functions:
Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Making Pizza Dough
• Making Pasta sauce’s
• Making Salads
• Maintenance of the wood fired oven
• Meet all DEHEC requirements
• Lead an engaged team of culinarians
• Ordering of products
• Collaborate with the Chef De Cuisine on daily specials

Qualifications:

• 
  High school or equivalent education required
• 5 years’ experience preferred
• Upscale or fine dining experience strongly preferred
• Standalone restaurant experience
• Culinary Degree from an accredited culinary program preferred
• Knowledge of sanitation practices, weights and measures, and various cooking techniques.
• Must possess good attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write and understand English

Physical Requirements:

• 
  Most work tasks are performed indoors.
• Cooking is performed in the outdoors, and one must be able to work in extreme temperatures
• Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4hrs in length.
• Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability in a limited space.
• Must have the ability to bend, squat and frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• May be required to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
