Job description

The Plant Controller is the main financial and analytical support for manufacturing departments and activities and is responsible for connecting manufacturing and production results to the monthly and annual financial results for the company. (This is not the Corporate Controller position.) You will be accountable for internal and co-pack manufacturing costing, analysis and financials


Key Responsibilities:

Ensure Cost Control

  • Establish accurate, effective product costing models, new product cost estimates and annual COGS standards
  • Track, monitor and report monthly cost variances for labor and materials
  • Prepare monthly cost review decks highlighting key trends & insights for cost control
  • Support development and delivery of annual productivity improvement targets.
  • Support development and execution of manufacturing strategies, including Cost Optimization and large capital project execution

Deliver Financial Planning & Reporting

  • Manage the overall manufacturing budget with manufacturing management team as well as being the critical liaison between manufacturing and Finance in the business planning process
  • Develop, execute, and monitor the annual operating plan, periodic financial forecasts, and monthly financial close for manufacturing processes and manufacturing support teams
  • Monitor financial and operating performance and develop plans to close gaps to plant targets
  • Reconcile all manufacturing GL Accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Drive clear understanding of financial and costing key figures, costing and business impact within and outside the manufacturing, including organizing training sessions for non-specialists
  • Function as system owner for operational related data and reporting systems, such as RedZone and Power BI
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
  • 4+ years of related experience working in a finance/accounting role within manufacturing; food manufacturing preferred
  • Proven analytical and strategic skills supported by experience with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, Business Intelligence Systems and Manufacturing Excellence Systems (We use: Business Dynamics ERP, Microsoft Power BI and Redzone)
  • Assertive, self-confident, and willing to offer opinions and insights as well as ability to work well on teams and build effective relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organization and prioritization skills and solid verbal and written communication skills

Pay Range: $80,000-$110,000
