PLC Electrical Design Engineer

What You Will Be Doing

• Design and implement electrical control and distribution system projects independently and with other engineering staff.
• Design and implement hardware installation and cabling for network and data projects.
• Gather systems performance data to identify areas for improvement utilizing data collection software.
• Assist with updating electrical distribution and control system schematics for improved safety and troubleshooting.
• Collaborates with electrical engineering technicians on monitoring and troubleshooting systems.
• Coordinate with maintenance department on electrical preventative maintenance
• Perform other tasks or duties as required or needed

What You Need for this Position

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 8+ years experience with controls, power and electrical design engineering in meat processing, food / beverage, packaging, and/or heavy industrial manufacturing plant environment.
• Experience working in a meat processing or packaging company is preferred.
• Strong understanding of control system design within understanding of NEC, OSHA, and similar regulations.
• Understanding of low and medium voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Experience with PLC programming, either Siemens or Allen Bradley, and associated HMI systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills on electrical systems.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with people at all levels.
• Flexibility to work overtime, when needed
• Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Autodesk software.
• Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
