We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join Dr. Suter’s Pulmonary Optical Imaging Laboratory at the Massachusetts General Hospital within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. A Harvard Medical School appointment will be at the postdoctoral rank. The successful candidate will work within a highly collaborative research environment focused on the development and use of optical diagnostics for studying the lungs. The position will involve the use of novel optical imaging systems including polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography to assess airway smooth muscle in asthma. Candidates will be required to conduct preclinical and clinical studies. A strong background in biomedical optics or imaging is desired.
Requirements: A doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline is required. Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas is desired: biomedical optics, image processing, laser optical physics, instrumentation, optical imaging, translational studies, or programming in C++, Matlab, or ImageJ. Applicants should be self-motivated, dedicated, creative and capable of working in a multidisciplinary environment.
