JOB SUMMARY:
The objective of this position is to execute through the implementation of appropriate administration and management techniques each assigned project to ensure its successful completion. To achieve this goal, the Facilities Practice Leader shall ensure, under the general supervision and direction of the Department Manager or his/her designee the following duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
SUPERVISION OF DESIGN
- Supervise work of assigned project personnel to ensure that it meets the highest professional standards
- Strive continually to complete an assigned project on time and within allocated budget
- Review work in progress by other departments and/or outside Consultants to ensure that it is being performed satisfactorily
- Compile and prepare information requested by the Department Manager to determine if the work is in accordance with the requirements of the contract, on schedule, etc.
LIAISON
- Maintain close liaison with clients and departments to resolve all project questions, such as service requirements, completion requirements, extra work, billings, future work, etc.
- Review with the Department Manager all project design changes, pending or anticipated alterations to the Contract, extra work requests, and all other factors which may significantly affect manpower requirements
- Compile the information required by the Department Manager to complete project status reports covering such items as man‐hours expended, percentage of job completions, job costs, progress of other departments and outside consultants, earnings, billings, etc.
PRODUCTION COORDINATION
- Review with the Department Manager the schedule of various job phases and their relationship to project time requirements, and request assignment of personnel to fulfill these requirements
- Where work by other departments or outside Consultants is required, determine its timing, performance and other special requirements
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
- Implement training methods and procedures for the improvement and upgrading of project personnel skills
- Counsel subordinates concerning their work, progress, and company policies
- Appraise performance of subordinates as required
SALES PROMOTION
- Seek out areas of new work with existing clients
- Report any leads or suggestions toward securing new work within the Facilities Market
- Pursue leads as directed
- Actively pursue and participate in professional activities
- Prepare when requested all material required to submit a technical proposal
Required Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of PM/CM concepts, theories, and practices for facility related projects
- Analyze and synthesize complex information obtained from clients, research, visual observations, and laboratory/field test data, as required.
- Proficient with, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
Required Experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or a related field is required from an accredited university
- 10+ years of relevant program/ construction management experience
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree is desirable from an accredited university
LICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND REGISTRATIONS:
- Registered Professional credentials is desirable in the state of the home/ branch office
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Requires the ability to exert light physical effort including, but not limited to, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, etc. of objects and materials of light weight (generally 25 pounds and less)
- May involve extended periods of time in seated position and at a keyboard or workstation
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- This job combines office with some field work
- Willingness to travel extensively to various project sites - Primarily Alabama & Georgia
