Primary functions:
The Center Director has the responsibility to successfully operate a child care center that meets the needs of the children, their parents, and families; is fiscally responsible; keeps well-maintained records; and ensures staff is well-trained and supervised.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provides a high-quality, developmentally appropriate program, and curriculum.Makes successful class placements as needed.
Models positive and effective guidance procedures.
Ensures that the program complies with DCF licensing standards and the Early Learning Coalition agreement and requirements.
Responsible for the enrichment of the program and access to resources for the program, such as Special visitors, field trips, and community services.
- Develops a team that cooperates to reach center goals.Develops and communicates the goals of the program with the staff.
Observes and evaluate staff on a regular basis.
Develops schedules and duty assignments for the staff that meets the needs of the children and is fiscally responsible.
Arranges and assist with staff training and professional development. Conducts monthly staff meetings.
Hires staff and fires staff when necessary using appropriate policies and procedures.
- Is responsible for the overall administration of the center.
- Is responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of records for:Center reimbursement
Children’s records
Staff records
Foodservice records
Parent fees
Time Sheets
Ages and stages, including ILP
Teaching Strategies Gold (if your location participates)
- Maintains Confidentiality of files.Maintains open communication with the headmaster and shares all pertinent information.
Orders and maintains appropriate supplies and equipment.
- Provides for the health, safety, and welfare of the children.Ensures that the center is in compliance with DCF, ELC, Health Department, and Fire Safety regulations, and inspections.
Ensures the center is in compliance with the food program guidelines.
Ensures the building or designated program area reflects cleaning inside and outside.
Maintains the center inside and outside with repairs being scheduled and completed on a timely basis in collaboration with the headmaster.
- Is responsible for an Active family involvement program.Attends, participates, and documents family functions.
Serves as a Resource for parents.
Is readily available to families for consultation and orientation to the program.
Makes a conscious effort to help maintain the financial well-being of the center.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
