POSITION PURPOSE:

Analyze yield performance. Propose and lead all improvement actions including 6 sigma projects. Adapt SOP and WI to improve the reliability of the global manufacturing process. Collaborate with CI Organization on Process Improvement Initiatives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Improve first time yield on our production line. To enable cost savings and production efficiency, we need to fine tune, enhance & maintain processes which help improve our quality right the first time overall metrics. This makes the first time yield (FTY) metric (which can also be referred to as first time pass yield (FPY) or first time through (FTT), important for our lines. Improving FTY has the following benefits: Cut repair and rework costs; reduce bottlenecks on the lines; boost overall production efficiency and deliver quality products.

  • Troubleshoot issues and yield performance. Analyze & propose while leading Improvement plan.
  • Process control monitoring and improvement.
  • Front line coordinating with GE Platform for new product / process validation
  • Establish better work standardization, SOP.
  • Support Production for better material and information flow.
  • Specialist in machines, equipment, process, products and technologies.
  • Leader for technology review to improve operation efficiency and technology transfer and training.
  • Help build strong process technicians.
  • Responsible for implementation of procedures in their area of work.
  • Understand the company procedures and policies and cooperate with company in audit activities.
  • Improve the performance of the most problematic processes.
  • Tighten production control limits.
  • Introduce additional monitors to improve performance.
  • Perform additional training and certification of the staff.
  • Enhance equipment maintenance.
  • Continuous improvement mindset to always find the most efficient quality improvement methods on delivering our valuable customers an accurate pair of glasses in the shortest amount of time.
  • Engage with employees and listen to all ideas while engaging with other Process Engineers for best practice findings & sharing.
  • Leverage Workstream Teams for continuous improvements in the 4 key areas of Employee Engagement, Quality Right First time (QRFT), Flow & Balance (cycle time, WIP, Theory & Constraints) and Clean, Standardize, Audit & Improve (CSAI).
  • Increase yield while decreasing reworks and customer returns to give the customer a quality job the first time right while targeting on continuously decreasing the amount of stalled jobs.
  • Uncovering flaws in our process & acting on every opportunity in finding ways to continually work smarter to improve yield and quality.
  • Help audit our Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs to optimize the respective equipment while partnering with our Maintenance staff & supervisors in holding employees accountable to follow expected procedures.
  • Train employees on new processes to improve skills as needed based on root cause analysis of escaping and non-escaping defects (upstream and downstream).
  • Assist in developing SOPS's for each workstation and processes in all areas of responsibility to help ensure a best practice standard that all employees are to consistently follow on each shift.
  • Ensure that all safety standards are maintained in the work areas.
  • Works in conjunction with the entire team to help all departments succeed for the greater good of our valuable customers with a strong teamwork mindset.
  • Oversees and monitors rejected jobs to determine the cause and implement improvements while also determining which jobs can be saved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Equivalent in a related field with proven on the job experience (5+ years) working in an Optical Production environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred.
  • OEE and TPM focused

  • Very strong knowledge of computers to analyze data and keying in on extracting the most useful information to help gauge where we stand in overall quality and service levels
  • Creating action plans on the areas we need to improve based on customers’ & management’s expectations.
  • Very dependable to Management, Sales Teams and the CS Team to help meet the demands of our valuable customers in providing jobs accurately & timely while supporting all responsible departments in meeting their hourly throughput.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet production goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:
