The Program Coordinator will play a key role in developing the fun, educational experiences and programs that help children and adults discover their connection to agriculture.

Job Description:

Curate educational information for use in all educational experiences & exhibits of Farmamerica

• Develop and implement agricultural education programs for a variety of age groups
• Present agricultural education information in classrooms and on-site
• Be knowledgeable about all historic farm sites at Farmamerica and be able to answer basic questions about today’s farming practices
• Be the main tour guide of historic farm sites
• Collaborate with team members to promote programs and experiences

Manage & organize all educational events & experiences

• Be present at Farmamerica events, including Ag Evolution field trips, Ag Career Exploration field trips, day camps, family-friendly events, and Meat-a-palooza
• Work alongside a team of professionals to develop learning experiences through new gamification concept

Manage program budgets & grant opportunities to sustain & expand educational experiences

• Work with Farmamerica team members to seek grant opportunities and assist with writing as requested
• Develop and balance budgets for programs

Manage volunteers during events & experiences

Other duties

• Liaison for Farmamerica committees as needed, serve on community boards or committees as appropriate to represent Farmamerica’s best interest
• Participate in media interviews

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum, 2-years-experience in educational program development
• Minimum, 2-years-experience in event coordination or proven ability to plan & manage multiple activities at once
• Proven experience & ability to relate to & collaborate with people of all ages & from a range of professional & personal backgrounds & experience levels
• Proven use of effective interpersonal, communication & relationship skills
• General understanding of budgets, Profit/Loss statements, & ability to creatively source financial assistance
