Summary
The Program Coordinator, True2U will assist with the day to day operations of the True2U Program and provide a broad range of administrative support for the True2U program, staff, and program participants.
Background
True2U is a volunteer mentoring program that helps Cleveland Metropolitan School District eighth graders explore their true selves and prepare to make the most of high school as the first step on the path to college and career readiness. It began at the start of the 2015-2016 school year and served approximately 800 youth in 22 Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) schools during its first year. The program now serves all 63 CMSD K-8 buildings and Remote School, serving approximately 2,500 students.
True2U is a proud partner of the PACE (Planning and Career Exploration) Program in CMSD, an embedded curriculum for 6th – 12th graders that provides them with the knowledge, skills, experiences, and confidence to uncover the occupations or careers they want to pursue.
True2U is the shared vision of community leaders from the Cleveland Foundation, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Greater Cleveland Partnership, Neighborhood Leadership Institute, and the Greater Cleveland Faith-Based Collaborative, Inc. Together, they work to recruit mentors from the business community, churches, and civic organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Updates and maintains databases/spreadsheets
· Creates and analyzes data reports as needed
· Coordinates pre- and post- assessments for students and mentors
· Organizes and maintains records
· Assists with planning, coordinating, and implementation of programmatic events
· Plan, coordinate and execute the Out of School Experience Component for each school site
· Assists with day-of management of program events
· Assists with school site visits
· Assists in materials distribution
· Assists in family engagement initiatives
· Supports True2U activities at multiple school sites
· Supports School & Mentor communications
· Provides administrative support of varied office tasks and general customer service
· Prepares correspondence, forms, letters, and other paperwork
· Screens incoming telephone calls on behalf of the program utilizing customer-focused interpersonal skills, and assists as required
· Initiates calls in support of program operations
· Coordinates and arranges schedules and meetings, training events, makes appointments, prepares agendas, reserves and prepares facilities
· Coordinates with multiple partners/departments to accomplish program objectives
· Other special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications and Education
· Bachelor’s Degree Required; with advanced training in education and/or non-profit management preferred
· Minimum of three years of previous administrative/program coordination experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
· Excellent verbal, written communication and customer service skills
· Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in performance of work
· High level of confidentiality and professionalism
· Sensitivity to respond to the needs of a diverse population
· Excellent planning and organization skills
· Knowledge or comfort navigating virtual work settings, platforms and programs
Essential Functions

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment and remotely. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there will be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at mentoring sessions and training sessions away from the work-site. A driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation is required for independent school visits. Must have reliable internet for remote work days. Must pass a background check as a condition of employment.
This position is employed by Neighborhood Leadership Institute, but is housed at the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. This is a full time, grant funded position that offers a competitive benefits package.
