Job Description

Lilac is seeking a Project Engineer to assist with the deployment and ongoing operations of our lithium processing facilities in the field. The individual will report to the VP of Engineering. Responsibilities will include managing a multi-disciplinary engineering team, interfacing with external supplier companies, and fabrication and field teams. Key focus areas will be project schedules, engineering budgets, engineering deliverable quality control, and communication to leadership. Some travel may be required. Initially, the projects are located in South America and the US. Experience managing complex engineering projects is preferred. This is a full-time position based in Salt Lake City, UT.

Responsibilities

• Develop overall man-hour estimation and engineering schedules for new projects
• Direct and manage all engineering and discipline resources for specific projects where required
• Responsible for engineering budget and schedule for projects
• Report project progress on a weekly basis to the VP engineering for all engineering activities/deliverables.
• Develop project engineering schedule and engineering deliverables list
• Coordinate engineering team squad checks (review of various design drawings)
• Coordinate and participate in HAZOP studies
• Coordinate the development of procurement packages (enquiry, adjudication, purchase recommendations)
• Interface with third parties in a technical capacity
• Participate actively in team environment and contribute to successful completion of team goals

Candidate Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
• 8+ yrs of project managing multi-team engineering projects
• Knowledge of project management tools such as MS Project or equivalent
• Comfortable leading internal and external project meetings
• Well organized, with the ability to multitask
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• US work permit

Preferred Skills

• South American experience
• Experience in engineering, construction, natural resources projects
• Dashboard creation

Compensation

• Salary range: $95K-$150K annually (commensurate with experience)
