Property Manager
Overview:
The Property Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of residential properties and resident satisfaction. We are looking for someone with great customer service and interpersonal skills to manage our apartments in our affordable housing market. This person must take pride in their ability to communicate. Attention to detail to ensure that applications are accurate and resident issues or questions are adequately addressed is a must! If you enjoy problem solving and finding effective solutions for a variety of potential problems, have a current knowledge of leasing, property, and antidiscrimination laws, and enjoy meeting new people…this just might the role for you!!
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collecting rent and other property fees from residents and individual owners.
  • Working closely with Leasing Agents or Property Administrators to address resident issues and changes to rental agreements.
  • Reporting the property’s financial status, occupancy, and expiring leases to property owners.
  • Meeting potential residents, showing them the property, and assessing their applications in accordance with anti-discrimination laws.
  • Advertising vacant apartments and working with other site support staff and/or marketing to find potential residents.
  • Inspecting property and arranging for repairs and new materials as required.
  • Arranging contracts for maintenance, trash removal, landscaping, security, and other ongoing services, as needed.
  • Managing disputes with service providers, when appropriate.
  • Investigating and resolving property complaints and rental violations.

Requirements:
  • Active driver’s license
  • Active automobile insurance
  • Highschool diploma, or equivalent
  • At least 1-2 years of affordable Property Management experience required
    • HUD and Section 42 specific experience preferred.
  • Office and computer experience, required
