Position Summary
Support UNC Asheville’s fundraising efforts by serving as the primary prospect researcher for the campus. This position identifies prospects using wealth screening tools, in-depth research, and statistical analysis; serves as a strategic partner to all fundraisers during the donor cycle; and prepares briefing documents on individuals, corporations, and foundations. This position ensures that the most viable prospects are passed along to fundraisers for qualification and assignment.
The position plays a key role in managing fundraisers’ portfolios, creating new portfolios when fundraisers are hired, adding and removing prospects based on fundraiser feedback and proactively as research indicates, maintaining the moves management system, and coordinating collaboration among individuals who hold relationships with prospects and donors.
As the university enters into its first comprehensive campaign, this role will be critical to identifying top prospects and donors, and be a strategic partner in moves management. Flexible work arrangements available.
Required Education/Experience/Skills
A Bachelor’s Degree and 1-3 years of related experience.
Preferred Education/Experience/Skills
A Bachelor’s Degree and/or advanced degree, and at least 3 years of prospect research and portfolio management experience in a higher education setting. Proactive, goal-oriented individual with ability to plan, implement, and monitor the progress of projects.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Preferred candidates will be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and possess the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with a high level of professionalism. Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of standard industry resources such as ResearchPoint, iWave, etc. Ability to produce visualizations of data. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite including Power BI, Google Office Apps, and Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge NXT.
