Provider Relations Representative
Job description
The Provider Relations Representative I (“PR Rep I”) is responsible for projecting and integrating AHF’s mission and core values into the operations of the Contracting and Provider Relations Department. The Contracting and Provider Relations Department is a dynamic department that provides a wide array of services to AHF’s managed care plans and AHF Healthcare Centers (HCCs).
In collaboration with the Contracting and Provider Relations Manager, PR Rep I assists with the execution of provider training and recruitment tactics. He or she initiates efforts to contract with providers to meet access standards, support service area expansion efforts, and fulfill needed subspecialty provider requests for AHF’s Medicare Advantage and Medi-Cal managed care plans and Ryan White Care Act (RWCA) specialty services grants. Provider education and training responsibilities include execution of weekly/monthly/quarterly training programs and deploying tools and resources for network providers and AHF HCC staff. The PR Rep I will spend at least fifty percent (50%) of his or her time conducting in person provider trainings.
The PR Rep I delivers services that ensure internal/external provider/customer satisfaction and high retention rates. Job performance evaluation is heavily based on network provider and AHF HCC staff feedback on training effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Research providers by specialty, facility types and ancillary providers/vendors in assigned county/region/territory and create lists of potential providers with whom AHF may wish to contract.
- Monitor accuracy and completeness of provider directory information including but not limited to tracking terminations and additions to provider network for regulatory reporting and general network maintenance. Collaborate with the Provider Data Management Department to ensure network provider data is accurate and complete.
- Generate internal and external provider reports including quarterly Geo Access reports for network monitoring needs.
- Identify, document, triage and resolve assigned provider complaints.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from four-year College or university: or one to two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
