Psychiatric Technician (SVSP)

Psychiatric Inpatient Program

$80,184 - $94,776annual salary

Psychiatric Technicians working within the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit receive additional 15% stipend (of base salary)

Are you interested in supporting efforts to provide quality mental health care? California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS)/California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is seeking dedicated professionals, like you, to provide compassionate care to our diverse mentally and/or developmentally disabled patient population within the Psychiatric Inpatient Program at Salinas Valley State Prison, located in Soledad.

Working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting, you will:

· Provide a basic level of inpatient psychiatric and general nursing care

· Observe patients’ physical condition and behavior and report significant changes

· Participate in the development of treatment plans

· Update and maintain patients’ medical records

· Assist rehabilitation therapists with occupational, recreational, vocational, and educational therapy programs

To thrive in this role, you must possess a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners.
