GENERAL SUMMARY:

Summary:
This position provides accurate, appropriate assistance and information to patients, families and visitors to help ensure all Bayhealth Medical Center customers receive exceptional service. Stationed in the facility lobby’s this individual creates the first part of our welcoming environment while arriving and checking in our guests.

Additionally, as a valued member of the Public Safety team the position forms our first line of defense with a responsibility to observe and report suspicious behavior.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Exhibits excellent interpersonal and customer service skills during interactions with the public, employees, volunteers and all other hospital customers.
2. Accurately directs, and when appropriate, guides patients, family, or visitors to departments and/or waiting room.
3. Helps maintain a secure environment by screening all visitors and checking them in through the use of a visitor management software.
4. Works in cooperation with hospital departments to coordinate patient accessibility and visitation; ensures this is done in the most effective, expedient way possible.
5. Maintains adequate wheelchair supply for desk.
6. Provides current information to patients, visitors, and staff on hospital services and activities.
7. All other duties as assigned, within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL:

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Six months’ customer service experience Preferred: 1 year customer service experience
