Position Summary:

A Quality Assurance & Control Supervisor takes care of timely and effective implementation of product quality policies and procedures. This person collaborates with other departments to maintain and improve the status quo of manufactured products, troubleshoot and avoid product quality issues, maximize productivity, and comply with applicable regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:

  • Performs quality checks on in-process and finished products.
  • Records observations and reports defects.
  • Collaborates with Production and Quality Management to identify and study the root cause of defects and defines proper corrective action.
  • Takes samples and inspects raw and packaging materials as per sampling plan. Verifies the raw material certificates of analysis (COA) for compliance. Investigates deviations.
  • Reviews batch making records and ensures completeness and accuracy prior to filing.
  • Calibrates the pH/EC meter.
  • Makes sure sufficient stock of lab chemicals and supplies is available.
  • Takes samples of raw material and finished product as per plan and sends it external labs for testing.
  • Reviews external lab results for compliance to specifications
  • Prepares tracker updates and create product COAs.
  • Manages in-house and third party finished product retained samples and keeps records in accordance with document retention requirements.
  • Checks raw and packaging material receipts for planning inspections and runs the traceability on finished product.
  • Carries out first label checks and reports observations.
  • Collaborates with the Production and Warehouse team on new and existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes statistical product quality data. Identifies improvements and collaborates with Production to improve quality.
  • Verifies that production equipment is calibrated correctly.
  • Trains the production team on quality control measures to improve quality.
  • Stays current on relevant regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assists in day-to-day production operations.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, or math.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated quality assurance & control experience.
  • Experience with audits (e.g., sampling, monitoring, documentation, variances).
  • Proficient in using Office Suite, NetSuite ERP, and statistical tools.
  • Able to perform arithmetic operations (e.g., add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check.
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, climbing stairs and ladders, and carrying boxes.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs at a time.
