Job Description:Vanir has a unique opportunity for a talented individual to assist in the continued strategic growth of our organization. The position of Quality Assurance Specialist will work collaboratively with internal and external clients to deliver intelligent solutions to ensure quality project delivery in the educational segment of our organization. The Quality Assurance Specialist will be instrumental in reviewing, revising, and developing the programs Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the Bond Program design, construction, and PMO management processes are clearly documented. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:*

• They will be responsible for rebar inspections, and quality assurance during all concrete pours
• Coordinate and track all required inspections and testing, including 3rd parting testing/inspections related to concrete/structural aspects of the buildings
• Review submittals for understanding and accuracy with documents in relation to structural building components (rebar, concrete, etc.)
• Review and coordinate RFIs related to structural building components
• Communicate and coordinate with the GC, Trade contractors, architects/engineers, testing labs, MEP inspectors
• Provide a log of activities during concrete pours
• They will need to coordinate construction logistics between GC, FP&C and Campus
• Communicate and coordinate with the GC, Trade contractors, architects/engineers, testing labs, MEP inspectors
• Review submittals for understanding and accuracy with documents. Ensure submittals have been sent to FP&C engineers for review and comment
• Assist with RFI reviews and ensure RFIs are sent to FP&C team for review and comment when needed
• Maintain a daily log. Send daily communication with pictures to FP&CPMs on job site activities. Review contractor daily logs for accuracy and completeness
• Provide daily job site walks to confirm construction progress, workmanship, conformance with approved documents. Notify FP&CPMs of any deficiencies
• Coordinate and track all required inspections and testing, including 3rd party testing/inspections
• Communicate and notify FP&C of any non-conformance issues, so FP&C can take appropriate contractual actions
• Verify schedule is being maintained and notify FP&CPMs of any deviations
• Verify deficiencies have been corrected or approved by applicable parties
• Conduct cover up inspections, assist with creating punchlists and walk off punchlists
• Performs other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree with emphasis in English, Business, construction management, or related area of study. 3+ years’ experience writing and developing materials for multiple stakeholders/subject matter experts in a fast paced environment.

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards, quality and risk management systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with bidding and contracting process, and with programs that utilize public funds is preferred.

• Strong experience managing concrete based projects. Knowledge and experience with construction inspection processes, systems, means, methods, and materials is required
• Excellent communication and presentation skills a must.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with MS Office Suite including Word, Visio, SharePoint, and Excel; ability to create workflows in Visio is essential.
• Familiarity with various editorial and style guides is preferred.
