The Quality Inspector II: This position requires the person to be able to inspect & test parts and sub-assemblies used in portable instruments used by the Utility industry. They also need to be able to provide supplier support and manufacturing support by solving problems and suggesting improvements in processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspects and tests incoming materials, parts, and products.
- Maintains records of non-conforming materials and provides appropriate feedback to suppliers to improve the quality of the parts and materials being purchased by the company.
- Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products.
- Documents issues, problems, and corrective actions.
- Reports improper operations, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor.
- Recommends improvements in quality procedures, components, and processes.
- Records observations and participates in Quality improvement projects and activities.
- Performs and documents final testing and calibration of instruments during manufacture
- Records, compute and analyze necessary test data and completes necessary documentation.
- Follows safety rules and regulations and maintains a neat, clean, and orderly work area.
- Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two-year technical degree or equivalent preferred.
- Must have some training or experience in quality inspection of machined parts and electronic assemblies.
- Must have ability to read drawings, schematics, tolerances, GD & T and 3D models.
- 2 to 5 years’ years’ experience in the quality related area in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be computer literate.
Schedule:
- Full-time, On - site (Houston, Texas) ,Monday through Friday , 8 – 5pm
