• Conduct experimental design and formulation development to research new products for the paints and coatings markets (liquid or powder), marine antifouling and plastics technologies.
• Provide technical support for customers (internal and external) for the plastics and coating additives products.
• Prepare timely and detailed technical reports on internal R&D and external technical service projects.
• Collaborate with key functions in Arxada (Sales, Technical Service, Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain) on technical issues. Participate in interdisciplinary teams to relay data from laboratory projects and help support business strategies and regional launches of new products.
• Prepare coated panels with experimental dry film biocides for exposure on regional test fences, as well as panels for marine antifouling tests.
• Understand competitor’s products and prepare comparative data on new products against competitive systems.
• Promotion of best safety practices, habits, and behaviors. Serve as an EH&S advocate, ensuring understanding and adherence to Arxada policies and procedures and qualifications.
• Continuance of education to increase scientific knowledge and personal development.
• Does all according to strict safety procedures and guidelines, providing and adhering to SOPs and JSAs relevant to lab practices

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Chemical, Biological Sciences or Polymer Science.
• 5-10 years in technical experience with a demonstrated track record of scientific excellence, formulation development and technical problem solving.
• 2 years’ of industrial experience in products development and application and delivering results.
• Ability to conduct multiple projects in parallel.
• Demonstrates an openness to trying new approaches, encourages others to bring new ideas forward and brings new ideas for collaboration.
• Understands business opportunities for each project and prioritizes activity based on opportunity and milestone requirements.
• Communicates technical progress and success probabilities at project meetings.
• Experience effectively addressing customer and market needs using data and research to enhance customer interaction and support profitable business opportunities.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office productivity tools, with quickness to learn new software and systems.
