Aligned Orthopedic Partners is recruiting for an experienced Certified Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience taking and developing radiologic films using the PAC’s system
  • Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
  • Knowledge of practice management
  • Pleasant speaking voice
  • Good communication skills
  • Neat and professional appearance

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Greet patients and escort them from exam room to radiologic area and back to the exam room when finished.
  • Prepare patients for x-ray by positioning them in such a way that causes the least discomfort; instruct patient about how to position their body appropriately, hold their breath, etc.
  • Obtain clear images of the views requested by the physician using appropriate safety precautions, wearing protective equipment, and radiology monitor at all times.
  • Develop and process films accordingly per the instructions given, pull films up in the exam room for the physician, inform the physician or MA when films are ready for viewing.
  • Obtain signed waivers from patients when necessary to ensure patient safety; have scanned into EHR
  • Maintain patient confidentiality; comply with HIPPA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.

Radiologic Preparation and Equipment Maintenance

  • Take radiology stock inventory and communicate supply shortages to the manager (Examples include CD discs and CD cases)
  • Ensure radiologic equipment is in good working order, arrange for repairs in a timely manner when needed, and make back-up arrangements if equipment will be out of order for any period of time.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on x-ray equipment; ensure that equipment complies with regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain written policies for use of radiologic equipment and proper procedures for patient safety.
  • Complies with all OSHA mandates for dosimeter readings and quality assurance.

Typical Physical Demands

This position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, as well as manual and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. It involves standing and walking intermittently for several hours a day. The radiologic technician will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds, as well as help lift patients onto the xx-ray table. Normal visual acuity and hearing is required. The technician will be exposed to bodily fluids on a regular basis.

Typical Working Conditions

Radiologic technician will have frequent exposure to communicable disease, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
