We are looking for a motivated Real Estate Assistant to assist our leasing and administrative activities in a small boutique firm providing high-end furnished apartments catering to graduate student housing in the downtown Newark/University Heights area. Customer service is paramount, and communication is key.
Primary responsibilities include leasing, calling prospective residents, responding to telephone and e-mail inquiries, scheduling appointments, greeting prospects, showing units, staging vacancies, completing leases, and required paperwork. Also responsible for assisting current residents, responding to work orders, and light accounting.
The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:
- Real estate experience preferred but not required
- 2+ years experience as a personal assistant, office manager, or related position
- Can work on deadline and handle private client information
- Sales and Customer Service experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skill
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Property Management/Buildium/CRM experience a plus
- Critical thinking, sound decision-making and time management skills
- Professional demeanor
- Attention to detail and strong organization skills
- Be familiar with Fair Housing laws
- Valid driver’s license and personal transportation (car) required
