GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
To assist students with commencement, registration, class changes and matters pertaining to permanent records; to maintain accurate permanent records for all students; and to assist in various duties carried out by the office of Student Records. Receives immediate supervision from the Associate Director, Records & Registration and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position, and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Knowledge of: 1. Proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. 2. Principles, practices, and procedures of the registrar office. 3. Basic degree plan comprehension. 4. Basics in record-keeping and computer equipment operation. Skills in: 5. Proper keyboarding technique and software application (Word and Excel). 6. Organization, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Ability to: 7. Interpret and apply Federal, State, and college law, rules, regulations, and policies. 8. Perform a variety of duties under time constraints. 9. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 10. Learn and utilize new computer technologies. 11. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 12. Interpret data to produce reports and documents.

WORKING CONDITIONS:*
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activates. Minimal Hazard/Exposure-Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls are in place to assure health and comfort.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate Degree from an accredited college or university. (a minimum of 12 college credits plus relevant work experience may be substituted for required degree)
Experience: More than one year of work experience in an office environment.
