Job Summary and Qualifications
The Regional Director of Sales/RDS oversees, directs and drives all aspects of business development and sales marketing efforts within their respective areas. The RDS works with internal stakeholders to develop business development activities that align with operational and clinical goals. Accompanies the Region's Operations Directors/Home Health and Hospice Directors, Clinical Directors, and/or Business Development staff in customer calls, program/project implementations, and service recovery. Oversees a business development staff averaging 20 plus Home Health Coordinators (HHC)/Hospice Care Coordinators (HCC). Responsible for providing thought driven leadership and analytical guidance towards the achievement of determined sales objectives by developing and providing strategies in conjunction with appropriate business development teams. Monitors customer forecasts vs. Budget and identifying and communication gaps on an ongoing basis.
Essential Functions:
1. Successfully markets and positions HCA Healthcare at Home/HCA Hospice & Family Care programming within assigned geography. 2. Supports team in achieving and exceeding all established business goals internally and externally for the territory in which they are responsible. 3. Tracks and analyzes market and performance trends of the HHC/HCC Team to identify and proactively capitalize areas of opportunity and improve upon weaknesses 4. Maximizes all opportunities in the process of closing a referral resulting in market share growth. 5. Foster internal relationships between Business Development, Clinical and Operational teams to enhance teamwork and generate referral relationships 6. Oversees the weekly sales and marketing plans as well as the use of each agency’s marketing dollars to assure optimal exposure and maximum efficiencies. Coordinates planning and use of marketing budget dollars to create shared efficiencies in media. 7. Communicates to the broader sales organization regarding Sales processes, strategies and other relevant information. Assists in interviewing, hiring, training and coaching of all Home Health/Hospice Care Coordinators. 9. Oversees and/or completes the marketing plan and budgetary process for the area. Actively engages with the HHC/HCC(s) and the agency team in the development and modification of short and long range agency marketing plans and budgets by providing market information, data and feedback. 10. Monitors marketing and sales performance expectations. Assesses the skills and abilities of each HHC/HCC. Coaches, trains and motivates as appropriate to achieve success. Reviews and analyzes weekly and monthly sales and marketing reports to ensure accuracy of the information and to make recommendations for necessary changes. 11. Represents the organization in targeted local and state professional organizations, conferences, trade shows, and other activities 12. Leads and participates in team meetings within Region. 13. Partners with Training and Development to actively lead and participate in sales training activities for their respective market. 14. Identifies and builds effective centers of influence, networking with hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, independent senior buildings, physicians, community HCA Healthcare at Home | Hospice & Family Care organizations, and other professionals to maximize revenue. 15. Fosters, develops and maintains positive and effective relationships with community leaders, churches, and other potential referral sources, along with traditional referral sources. 16. Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with Regional Operations, and other hospice office colleagues. Educates and supports agencies on sales and marketing programs for their respective markets. 17. Defines, establishes and promotes performance expectations for direct reports to understand and demonstrate excellence through high quality and consistent performance. 18. Participates in each branch's strategic planning, for the purpose of aligning sales and marketing with overall branch goals. 19. Maintains a high level of knowledge of the industry and healthcare trends. Assesses, interprets, and draws accurate conclusions from a variety of data sources. Mines extensive data points, interprets data and develops solid recommendations to enable sales and marketing. 20. Conducts agency visits on a scheduled basis and leads accountability of HHC/HCC Team by providing tools and following through on expected results and maintaining all policies, procedures and protocols. 21. Partners with HCA’s Learning & Development, Analytics, Marketing, Community Sales Teams and other internal teams to support business unit growth and efficiency of operations. 22. Participates in each branch's strategic planning, for the purpose of aligning sales and marketing with overall branch goals. 23. Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field from a four-year college or university is preferred. Minimum five years of experience in healthcare sales management to include leading/managing multiple sales representatives. Minimum of two years’ experience in hospice care, home health care, or similar healthcare field. Experience managing revenue targets over $100M required. Experience designing and implementing analytics/dashboards, CRM platform, Onboarding and training programs required.
Certifications, Licenses, and other Special Requirements:
Frequent car and air travel require the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Ability to work some evenings/weekends and travel 70% of the time by air or car.
