Position Summary:
At Hopkins ElderPlus, a rehabilitation technician assists with the operation of the Rehabilitation Services Department by utilizing a computer-based inventory and tracking system, cleaning and servicing wheelchairs to ensure a quality condition, and participating in durable medical equipment (DME) management through maintenance, cleaning, ordering, distributing, constructing and assisting with in-home set up of DME. Provide assistance with participant care. Maintains records of required equipment cleaning and daily temperature monitoring. Maintain the HEP rehabilitation gym for treatments by cleaning the gym and therapeutic equipment after therapy sessions. Transport participants to therapy sessions. Complete clerical duties as assigned, which may include filing, photocopying, data entry, answering phones, and taking messages. Rehabilitation Technician will need to demonstrate skill in handling a variety of both manual and power tools.

Education:
High School level of educational development and less than 6 months of previous experience

Experience:
Less than 6 months of previous experience

Work requires analytical skills to gather and interpret data in situations in which the information or problems are relatively routine.

Knowledge/Skills:
Monitors patients and assists with patient care when asked by therapy staff.
Transports participants to and from the Rehabilitation Services suite.
Tracks equipment in the clinic area and off-site storage facility and produce reports as needed.
Stocks and organizes the Rehabilitation Services clinic linen and supplies.
Assembles equipment.
Attends all mandatory meetings, and provides timely, efficient, and accurate support when carrying out department projects. Provides constructive feedback and suggestions in meetings.
Maintains and cleans hydroculator per scheduled protocol and performs daily monitoring of temperatures.
Performs other duties as requested.
