The Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for providing skill building and rehabilitation services to youth and adults referred through the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) in Milwaukee County. The position also supports and assists consumers in the follow through and success of their individualized goals. Services include individual meetings, structured rehab activities that build a variety of different skills such as community integration, coping skills, housing, money management, etc.
LOCATION & HOURS: Office is based in West Allis, WI. Hours will vary, typically Monday-Friday between 9:00am-5:00pm.
SALARY: $18.00-21.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Analyze the consumer’s capabilities, strengths and problems to determine the services required to meet their unique needs.
- Create recovery plan goals in collaboration with team members, other providers, and natural supports.
- Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for the consumer in the community and as part of their recovery team.
- Attend recovery team meetings as needed.
- Organize and facilitate individual meetings and structured rehabilitation activities that assist consumers in developing pro-social skills and connections.
- Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or other related field.
- Previous experience working with adults and youth with mental illness and/or substance use disorders is required.
