Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Rehabilitation Workshop Supervisor I for the Kiley Developmental Center located in Waukegan, Illinois to conduct reviews of Vocational Rehabilitation Services programs. Coordinates the daily operations of the facility’s work training program/sites both on and off campus. Serves as working supervisor to lower-level staff. Reviews staff utilization and staff assignments of facility’s on-grounds work training sites. Monitors staff implementation of schedules, programs and data collection.
Job Responsibilities
- Conducts reviews of Vocational Rehabilitation Services programs.
- Serves as a working supervisor.
- Reviews staff utilization and staff assignments of facility’s on-grounds and off-grounds work training sites.
- Monitors staff implementation of schedules, programs and data collection.
- Reviews habilitation documentation to verify current habilitation plans, required behavior intervention information, skill acquisition programs, service objectives, guidelines, data sheets, etc., are in designated work areas.
- Represents the facility in community activities.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years college with courses in business administration, rehabilitation, psychology, sociology or a related field.
OR
Two years college with courses in rehabilitation, psychology, or related field and two years’ experience in
a rehabilitation workshop or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four (4) years of professional experience in a rehabilitation workshop for a public or private organization.
- Four (4) years of professional experience conducting and reviewing vocational services at work training sites for a public or private organization.
- Four (4) years of professional experience supervising and training staff.
- Four (4) years of professional experience preparing reports recommending corrective action and/or system improvements.
- Four (4) years of professional experience using appropriate methods and procedures as they relate to workshop operations or particular business operations.
- Four (4) years of professional experience communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
- Requires the ability to travel.
- Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers.
- Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others.
- Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
- Requires the ability to pass the IDHS background check.
- Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
