RESEARCH AND EVALUATION ASSOCIATE
FULL-TIME/ EXEMPT
STARTING SALARY: $62K - $65K

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director of Impact, the Research and Evaluation Associate provides support for the development of research and evaluation tools used for data collection, project coordination of a cash plus program model, project coordination with our impact data collection, and other functions of the Research and Evaluation department. The R&E Associates primary responsibility will be to support the organizations implementation of a cash plus program design that will require work with a group of Larkin Street clients in design and implementation. This role provides critical support for the department's program evaluation, performance management, and reporting functions by ensuring that the system is serving its purposes and is aligned with Larkin Streets vision and mission. Day-to-day this role will provide coordination and support in the implementation of a new cash plus program design, the regular updating of our data collection tools and instruments, working closely with R&E staff to revise internal systems as required by evolving program or reporting needs, implementing quality assurance and quality control processes to data collection, and providing ongoing staff training and support as it relates to system usage.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*
Cash Plus Program Evaluation Coordination
- Coordinate the pre-implementation, design, launch, and evaluation of a Cash Plus program at Larkin Street.
- Support the work of clients or youth with lived experience in the design of this new program, ensure that all planning is timely and feasible and that all tools and policies are relevant to our client population.
- Facilitate the co-design of data collection tools and instruments with clients and staff at Larkin Street.
- Coordinate the pilot, distribution, and collection of evaluation methods that support the process and impact evaluation of the Cash Plus program.
- Meet regularly (bi-weekly to monthly) with respective project teams and partners.
- Report bi-weekly to the Director of Impact on project status and timelines leading up to the launch of this new program.
- Co-facilitate and coordinate all Continuous Quality Improvement sessions regarding the Cash Plus program within Larkin Streets Quarterly learning agenda
Data Collection Methods
- Distribute, co-design, and support the reporting on quarterly client satisfaction surveys
- Coordinate the distribution and collection of impact data collection within a client communication platform.
- Works with department leadership to implement revisions as required by evolving programmatic needs.
- Align data collection methods to existing CRM for optimum integration with annual review and project development
- Supporting ongoing departmental functions as they align over time.
Research
- Conduct research and analyses of relevant policy measures impacting youth that experience homelessness and/or the homelessness response system.
- Works with Research and Evaluation department leadership to implement revisions to the systems as required by evolving programmatic or reporting needs.
- Coordinate, provide research support, and facilitate a monthly policy and advocacy meeting.
- Supports the development of an annual policy brief and impact report through coordination with the Marketing and Communication department.
Staff Support and Training
- Provides initial and ongoing training and support to staff on data collection responsibilities and processes regarding Client Satisfaction Surveys
- Implements technical training resources and creates new materials as needed.
- Provides additional or ongoing training and support to staff as required.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the data collection policies, standards, and methods within the department.
- Attend supervision meetings with the Director of Impact.
- Attend monthly Research and Evaluation department team meetings
- Support Larkin Streets Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging through active participation in collaborative workgroups.
- Other duties as required.

- Ability to speak and write English clearly and accurately.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree in the social sciences or related field preferred, but equivalent experience and certifications will be considered.
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE:
- Two-plus years of related experience with conducting and presenting research, research methods, data collection, and/or data analysis.
- Prior experience within the homelessness response system or youth development is a plus
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of relevant software packages (Excel, SPSS/R)
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, be self-directed, and take initiative.
