The Operations Group provides fundamental infrastructural and technical support to all other departments. The purpose of the Research Associate III is to provide cross-departmental laboratory expertise through the independent performance of lab and animal procedures.

In this role you will:

• Execute experimental procedures in close collaboration with other departments with minimal day to day supervision.
• Schedule and execute all tasks necessary to achieve project and production goals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Perform a wide range of tissue culture, laboratory, and animal handling procedures
• Cell culture procedures include: hepatocyte and bone marrow isolation, magnetic cell separations, production of viral vectors, cell cryopreservation, and flow cytometry.
• Animal handling procedures include: complex injections, liver perfusions, dosing, blood and tissue sampling, monitoring of animal health and post-mortem tissue harvest
• Laboratory procedures include: ELISA assays, genotyping, PCR, flow cytometry, and reagent preparation
• Measure, track, and report quality control metrics
• Contribute scientifically to the development of new technologies and execute process improvement projects
• Contribute to the timely and accurate execution of internal and customer studies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline with 4+ years of research experience, prior industry experience and/or a graduate degree a plus.
• Proficient with cell culture techniques
• Adept in rodent handling and manipulation in a research setting
• Must be a self-driven team player with excellent communication, leadership and motivational skills
• Proficiency with use of Microsoft Office including Word/Excel/Power Point.
• Prior experience with project management, statistical and graphical software programs is highly preferred.
• Vaccinated for Hepatitis B Virus or willingness and ability to become vaccinated.

Work Environment

• This position involves duties in a laboratory and controlled Specific Pathogen Free setting, including light exposure to hazardous materials.
• Ability to lift at least 30lbs.
• Able to bend, kneel, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Must be able to perform in an environment with exposure to animals, animal dander, animal byproducts, and bedding materials

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
