The CalSTRS Enterprise Strategy Management Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Research Data Analyst II on the Survey Research & Analysis Team.
The Enterprise Strategy Management Division is responsible for organization-wide strategic management, business planning and enterprise performance, research and development, and corporate sustainability processes in support of CalSTRS mission. The individual business areas work together to increase CalSTRS’ ability to integrate performance data and conduct research to identify enterprise-wide issues used to inform the Teachers’ Retirement Board and executive staff to arrive at sound conclusions and make educated decisions. Together, these functions are instrumental in meeting and reporting on strategic goals for the organization.
The Survey Research & Analysis unit works with a variety of internal business areas at CalSTRS to conduct research on the member experience. As a member of the team you will design surveys for clients and conduct statistical analyses on data to better understand what drives member satisfaction, engagement and retirement readiness. You will author reports identifying research findings and present to CalSTRS leadership to help the organization make data-driven decisions. This position will hone your data science skills and introduce you to how research is used for business intelligence.

Under general supervision of the Research Data Manager, the Research Data Analyst II (RDA II) performs a variety of independent tasks that includes varied and complex research and data analysis within the Survey Research & Analysis unit. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting custom research projects, providing data driven recommendations that align with CalSTRS organizational culture, and providing subject matter and research practice expertise to a variety of clients.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Experience with survey research design, administration, and analysis
- Ability to communicate survey results and data verbally and in writing
- Experience with statistical software (SPSS or R)
- Experience with project management
- Experience working with confidential data
Telework Information: We offer a hybrid approach including in-office and remote work solutions with staff working on-site at our Headquarters in West Sacramento 2 days per week.

Pay: $69,516.00 - $87,072.00 per year
