The Forge Pizza in Oakland, famous for its irreverent urban-industrial vibe, American comfort food, and Neapolitan style wood-fired pizza is now hiring an Assistant General Manager.
This position is ideal for an energetic go-getter looking to further their restaurant management career with a run it like you own it mentality.
Our restaurant has one of Oakland's largest patio spaces and is great for booking events and large parties.
This is best suited as an hourly position allowing the ideal candidate to achieve incredible income potential through commissions, bonuses, and tips.
We are looking for someone that wants to build sales and be rewarded financially for doing so.
Our hours are very reasonable closing between 9pm and 10pm.
Our philosophy is to throw a party every shift that guest want to attend.
We pay our employees weekly, offer free meals in any of our restaurants, along with a medical/dental allowance.
You will love our casual vibe partnered with ironclad existing systems and technology that allow you to be yourself and bring your uniqueness to the restaurant. Our company is approaching its 10th year and was built almost entirely from the incredible individuals from within.
This position is a full-time position 45-55 hours per week, but you are paid for every hour you work. You right your own schedule and are held accountable to the financial results.
Our Ideal Candidate is:
A detail-oriented Hospitality leader who will be a hands-on mentor in the dining room with the ability to adapt quickly to changes and create an amazing experience for both our guests and our staff. You will lead all front of house operations, providing insight and guidance to every member of the team, working closely with the supervisory team, owner, and Director of Operations to further the success of the restaurant. You have exceptional financial acumen, expertise in service, an impeccable eye for detail, a high level of professionalism, and can execute the standards of full service casual establishment. You have a knack for driving revenue, increasing team member engagement and retention, and executing and implementing systems.

*Experience with various industry specific software; Toast, Open Table, accounting software, menu creation, and others *Experience writing schedules for a team of 30+ *Interviewing and Hiring Acumen *Adept at team building across both back and front of house *Adaptability in both your leadership style and your business approach *Advanced knowledge of Food and Wine. Beer knowledge is a big plus *Desire to teach and mentor both your staff and supervisors
- Basic Qualifications

*5+ years’ experience in a high volume casual restaurant, with at least 2 years in a leadership role *Knowledge of safety and hygiene protocols *Working knowledge of HR practices and labor laws *Ability to frequently lift up to 40 pounds *Have the stamina to work in excess of 40 hours per week
