Responsibilities and Core Functions:
This position under the direction of the Revenue Cycle Manager works independently in the field rotating through all 16 Health Centers to ensure that all patients presenting for care are appropriately processed based on front-end policies and procedures. This includes registration of both demographic and insurance information into the EMR system.


Specific Authorities and Duties:

1. Work with front desk personnel at all Tampa Family locations to ensure proper policies and procedures with respect to patient registration are properly followed.

2. Oversee collection of time-of-service patient payments.

3. Oversee daily summary and cash collection of time-of-service patient payments.

4. Review EMR dashboards on a regular basis for registration errors.

5. Conduct trainings for new staff and corrective action training for registration staff for registration related duties.

6. Will communicate with patients on registration or payment issues

7. Proficiency in understanding of the all insurances TFHC contracts with as well as the TFHC sliding fee scale and the Hillsborough County Health Care Plan.

8. Assist with developing updates and training annually on the sliding fee schedule.

9. Supervision and evaluation of the Patient Resource Specialists.


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Prior work experience in medical front desk operations and revenue cycle.
  • Proficiency in utilizing and interpreting financial models and analyses.
  • Experience in applying organizational standards when developing trainings and evaluations.
  • Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.


Education, Certification, Training and License:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma
  • Management Experience
  • Certified Medical Biller – Preferred
  • Bi-lingual – Preferred
  • Electronic Medical Records experience required, EPIC preferred
