SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The RF Technician II will be assisting in the development of our next generation software defined radios, gimbals, and other products for the satellite industry.
In this role you will assist in developing and testing of RF hardware to support our cutting-edge technology roadmap. The RF lab tech will be responsible for overseeing the RF prototyping lab to include setup, testing, and teardown of testing. This will include maintaining the lab equipment, calibration requirements, and overall organization of the lab area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work closely with product and design engineering to support product development and the technology roadmap.
- Setup and run test protocols on highly sensitive hardware intended for space flight.
- Operate specialized laboratory or experimental equipment; collect and summarize data.
- Document failures in problem reports, work with EE’s and SMEs to resolve the issue.
- Investigate root cause and remediation of hardware and firmware issues found during prototype testing.
- Test, update, and repair printed circuit board using test stations, soldering equipment and/or tools.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Maintain and organize lab space and associated equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree in electronics, military training as a technician or combination of course work/job experience.
- Hands-on experience with RF testing equipment including Spectrum and Network Analyzers, Oscilloscope, Power Meter, Signal Generator, and Power Supply.
- Experience with RF concepts, like dBm, dBW, dB, matching, return loss, insertion loss.
- Experience reading schematics and with common rework of PCBAs.
- Excellent written communication skills; must appreciate importance of documentation.
- Proven and demonstrated problem solving skills are required.
- Self-motivated and results driven.

Washington state pay range: $27 to $40/hr
