The Enterprise Risk and Claims Analyst supports identification and management of Organizational risk. The Analyst will provide knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and EWEB policies and procedures Oregon Tort Claims Act, ORS, OAR, and case law as they pertain to claims handling. The position requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to independently research and evaluate and recommend responses to claims.
This job has a broad range of responsibilities and is placed in the job family by the performance of increasingly complex tasks and duties. Specific duties will vary, and they may change as necessary to meet business needs.
Specific duties include:
- Reporting on significant risk and control issues and assist in the development of effective remediation and/or mitigation plans.
- Participating in enterprise-wide projects to ensure new risks are appropriately identified and addressed.
- Supporting policy review, program assessment, compliance reporting, or other assurance related functions for assigned business units.
- Assisting manager and other Enterprise Risk Analysts in developing action-oriented and compelling governance, enterprise risk, compliance, audit or other ERM related reports.
- In a timely manner investigates and adjusts claims within EWEB's self-insured retention limits and ensures proper documentation of claims.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of and direct experience with:
- Risk register, risk exposure, risk reporting and handling of risk events
- Working knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Oregon Tort Claims Act, ORS, OAR and case law as they pertain to claims handling.
The starting annual salary for this position is commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position. The hiring ranges for the positions are as follows:
- Enterprise Risk and Claims Analyst I: $63,835 - $76,909 annually
- Enterprise Risk and Claims Analyst II: $69,215 - $86,519 annually

This position is based in Eugene, Oregon; however, it has been approved as a hybrid telecommuting arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site on a less frequent basis. EWEB is committed to the safety of the workforce, therefore on-site visits may be reduced based on CDC/OHA guidelines due to COVID-19.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Enterprise Risk and Claims Analyst I: Minimum of one (1) year relevant professional work experience in records management, contract management, compliance management, business process analysis, project management, collections, insurance, claims, or paralegal.
Enterprise Risk and Claims Analyst II: Minimum of three (3) years relevant professional work experience in records management, contract management, compliance management, business process analysis, project management, collections, insurance, claims, or paralegal.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field strongly preferred.
Desirable education, experience, training and certifications: ARM, CPA, CMA, CIA, PMP, and/or PgMP. Experience in ERM methodologies and tools in the utility sector.
Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.
Valid driver license: Yes, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
Type and frequency of personal contact required (general public, organizations, EWEB employees): Daily and frequent contact over the telephone and in person with EWEB employees as well as other external parties and agencies.
