Summary of Job Duties:
The University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture (UADA) will lead the development of a national network to deliver education related to USDA program payments, asset protection, and the important relationships between federal income taxes and USDA farm programs. The Southern Risk Management Education Center (SRMEC) will lead the effort on behalf of UADA under the direction of Dr. Ronald Rainey, the Center’s Director.

The newly developed national program, Agricultural Finance, Tax, and Asset Protection Education Program (AgFTAP), will include formal collaborations with the Extension Risk Management Education Program (ERME), 1890, 1994 and Hispanic Serving Institutions. Additionally, the program will leverage resources developed and trainings offered by the Extension Tax Education Committee and the University of Arkansas Law School, LL.M program in collaboration. The Tax Committee and Law School L.L.M will collaborate on curriculum development resources including modules, recorded webinars, videos, and supplemental print materials to guide trainings suitable for delivery to and by extension faculty, educators, farm advocates resources to enhance farmer and rancher ability to understand and navigate the farm business tax and asset protection business decisions for their operations. AgFTAP program will develop and manage a national web portal to serve as a one-stop entry point for educators, farmers/ranchers, and agricultural stakeholders to interact with and understand the programs resources. The portal will strategically connect a national network of collaborators served through program representatives identified in every state and territory served by USDA. Educational components include targeted engagements with tax professionals, attorneys, land-grant extension educators, community-based organizations, agricultural stakeholders, and farmers and ranchers across all states and territories.

Responsibilities:
This position is a 100% Extension appointment in the Department of Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness at the University of Arkansas. Relevant expertise for consideration for this position may include agricultural finance, farm production economics, policy analysis, risk management, or agribusiness management.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires an earned Bachelor's degree in agricultural/applied economics, economics, or related fields from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Extension, land-grant system, or other industry/stakeholder engagement activities; experience in agricultural engagement and analysis, or technical assistance environments.
