Position Description (Starting pay $17.50/HR):
- Responding promptly to employees inquires
- Sharpen straight knives, draw knives and wizard knives for employees daily as needed using knife grinder.
- Clean, maintain and fix wizard knives with the correct parts along with maintaining the cables.
- Maintain all sharp implements (whizards, knives, box cutters, hooks, grind plates, machine blades) as assigned to the knife room in good working order
- Maintain employee records in computer data base
- Report and record issues
- Train employees on sharp implements and keep training records as required
- Maintain supplies; keep shelves stocked with appropriate supplies.
- Enter supplies provided/sold to each employee or department into computer.
- Maintain knife-sharpening equipment in working order and communicate to management and maintenance as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Good work history and attendance.
- Detail Oriented
- Bilingual preferred but not required.
- Great people skills
- Self-motivated - work well without direct supervision
- Team player
- Ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of whizard knives and knife maintenance
