Unique Skills:

Must have working knowledge of turbo fan engines from Rolls Royce and Pratt & Whitney.


Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 3 years aerospace/aviation experience. Airframe and Power Plant License preferred.

Position Purpose:

In a team oriented work environment, install parts and components, lines, wiring harness, etc. in assigned area using required. tools and appropriate prints, specifications, and operational requirements to complete work assigned through final inspection and assure conformance to specifications. May be asked to assist in the training of more junior mechanics.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  • Build up engines and cowls and associated parts and hardware.

  • Remove and replace electrical harnesses, components, cut and fit system lines and associated hardware necessary to facilitate the buildup of engines.

  • Responsible for quality and efficiency of all installations; ensure all parts/assembly meet requirements; perform necessary rework to ensure installations meet conformity.

  • Install systems lines, valves, ducts, wiring, and associated parts and hardware, and work to ensure a leak free system.

  • Use a variety of tools and equipment, including permaswage pumps, dies, line cutting tools, wrenches, checking tools, witness gauges, etc., and tools to successfully complete component and structure installation.

  • Make repairs per discrepant material tags, performs necessary work to ensure installations meet conformity. .

  • Update and sign logs and records as required.

  • Check own work and ensure a defective free installation prior to final inspection.

  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S program and comply with all safety regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small-space restricted areas and lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Requires ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.

  • Must be skilled in close tolerance work and have knowledge of use of special tools and ability to perform close tolerance work such as drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.

  • Thorough knowledge in the use of multiple measuring devices and demonstrates the ability to use within a specified tolerance.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
