HERFF JONES, Sales & Operations Demand Planner – Indianapolis, IN or Remote Your Opportunity :
The Herff Jones S&OP team is looking for a Sales & Operations Demand Planner to join our team.
Here's How You’ll Make an Impact:
As a Sales & Operations Demand Planner you will join the Herff Jones team to support transformation of the business and drive disciplined, routine, data driven decision making. In this key position, you will be responsible for developing and analyzing demand by account and product line within each business division. You will lead the process to build consensus forecasts and facilitate communication between the sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams within Herff Jones.

What You’ll Do:
Develop and update demand forecasts on a monthly basis by account and product line within each business division to support production, purchasing, and finance and to attain established customer service objectives.
Implement communication and performance enhancements to demand planning process and systems.
Enhance item forecast accuracy to improve customer satisfaction while minimizing excess inventory.
Prepare SKU level forecast by month for a 24-month horizon– compile/analyze sales data and prepare a forecast based on historic trends, future expectations, and current conditions
Perform forecast systems user maintenance and refine model parameters to generate a statistical forecast
Work with Sales VP and Regional Sales Managers to update Book of Business review templates, collect customer insights (i.e., volume from data, wins & losses from Sales Analysts, etc.) and incorporate into forecast(s)
Work with Category Mgmt. to incorporate expected impacts from marketing activities into forecast (i.e., pricing, promotions, NPI, product changes, etc.)
Develop and maintain documentation of assumptions driving the demand volumes
Facilitate meetings with commercial teams to review forecast accuracy, identify causes for gaps and refine the forecast
Prepare reports/presentation(s) and explain numbers in S&OP demand review meeting(s)
Serve as a communications leader between Operations, Sales/Marketing and Finance on demand issues including but not limited to consumption levels, new product launch, end of life, and contract renewal
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Familiarity with S&OP processes
Knowledge of manufacturing industry and ERP/MRP software applications
Understands business and Ops; able to work cross-functionally
Experience with demand forecasting and statistical models
Advanced analytical solving skills
Strong to advanced technical proficiency in Excel and Power BI
Able to extract business insights and translate findings into action
Able to conduct meetings and communicate effectively
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
APICS/ASCM or IBF certifications a plus
Advanced degree in business or other analytical disciplines a plus
