Nature & scope:

The Sales Coordinator is responsible for assisting in meeting or exceeding occupancy and revenue rates through
professional relationships and ongoing education to services and community outreach opportunities and WOW!! This
includes depicting all programs, services and amenities to customers/professional referrals as well as assisting in
orientation of new staff members.

Minimum eligibility requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Communications or related field preferred.
  • Must have experience in a retirement, nursing home, or assisted living industry preferably facilities specializing
in Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care.
  • Must have proven direct sales experience with demonstrated results. Must possess knowledge of the Rules and
Regulations for the Community and applicable move-in and move-out regulations.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, State hospitals and
general public.
  • Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work responsibly as a team member as well as an individual.
  • Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others.
  • Practice and promote Meridian Policies and Procedures, Mission Statement, Core Values and Founding
Principles.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to serve as a positive role model and spokesperson.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while
establishing appropriate priorities.
  • Must have knowledge of required standard practices that promote positive community relations and ensure
good occupancy.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to take on multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must pass criminal background check.

Essential functions

Marketing
  • Give a positive and informative first impression to all prospective residents and their families.
  • Write appropriate letters and notes required as follow-up to inquiries.
  • Ensure all WOW! Experience Processes are implemented.
  • Train and assure employees create “WOW” experiences for potential customers and referral sources
  • Maintain and utilize a system for follow-up with network sources.
  • Organize and facilitate all move-in activities while working collaboratively with the Resident Care Manager to
coordinate smooth and timely resident move-ins. These duties including but are not limited to the tracking of
inquiries, conducting initial tour of homes, arranging for move-ins and assuring customer experience meets
Meridian standards.
  • Meet weekly and as needed with the Executive Director & Sales Director to discuss census, marketing strategies,
and follow-up with referral sources.
  • Utilize computer software system to maintain accurate and timely detailed information in regard to number of
inquiries, inquiries to move-in ratios, move-in reasons, move-out reasons, diagnosis, age, location prior to movein, closest family member location, and other data as requested.
  • Utilize a computer software system to track and maintain waiting list and future interest list as well as track and
organize vacancies ensuring a quick and efficient move in process.
  • Serve as a representative of the Company in the community including participation in local organizations such as
the Alzheimer’s Association, provider and hospital networks, etc.
  • Conduct individual and group tours of the Community as requested
  • Coordinate open house and other marketing event
  • Conducting outreach to clinical professionals, building relationships in the community
Any other duties assigned by the Executive Director or Director of Sales

Joint decisions & duties between Sales Coordinator/Sales Director and Executive Director:
  • Assist the Sales Director in the development of materials (i.e., brochures, press releases and advertisements) that describe the Community’s services.
  • Cost control.

Customer service
  • Reinforce Company Mission Statement; “We enrich the lives of our residents, families and employees through
extraordinary experiences…because everyone deserves a great life” by engaging our residents, families, and
employees in the WOW! Experience
  • Responsible for ensuring that all employees are providing excellent customer service to internal and external
customers.
  • Perform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Take initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priority.
  • Meet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner (Visitors include anyone who visits the community;
specifically, current residents’ families and friends, prospective residents and their families, referral sources,
vendors and regulators).
  • Answer phones appropriately, according to company and community standards.
  • Communicate professionally and cooperate with supervisor and all community personnel.
  • Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction. Share the results with the Executive Director/Sales Director and
staff. Work as a part of the team to develop appropriate action plans to continually improve satisfaction levels.

Residents’ rights
  • Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents’ rights

Training
  • Attend training sessions as directed by supervisor.

Other
  • Follow & communicate company policies and procedures.

to perform assigned duties and responsibilities.

Working conditions (travel, hours, environment).
  • Is subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Is involved with resident, personnel, and visitors under all conditions and circumstances.
  • Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel and other department supervisors and staff.
  • Works beyond normal working hours, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary.
  • Is subject to callback during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
  • Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., through the workday, as well as to reactions
from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
  • Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B
viruses.
  • May communicate with family members, the medical staff, nursing personnel and other department supervisors
and staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

Physical/sensory requirement
  • The person in this position often communicates with the Executive Director/management team/co-workers,
residents and family members who may have inquiries about the duties of this position, and the plans, programs
and events in the community. Therefore, the ability to exchange accurate information in these situations is
essential.
  • Light work – Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently,
and/or negligible amount of force constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

OSHA category classification
II: Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogen.
