Scheduler - Outpatient
HCA Houston Healthcare West is a full-service 266 bed hospital that provides a range of health services. It is recognized as a Certified Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission and, under an affiliation agreement with The Woman's Hospital of Texas, brings to its community The Woman's Hospital of Texas at West Houston, a three-story cardiac and critical care tower. The Sugar Land Cancer Center and the Sugar Land Diagnostic Center, departments with HCA Houston Healthcare West, are located on the Southwest Freeway at the Williams Trace and Sugar Lakes exit.
HCA Houston Healthcare West is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare, part of the HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. The division is a comprehensive network of hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, emergency centers and diagnostic imaging facilities in greater Houston, Corpus Christi and South Texas. Facilities include: 17 hospitals, nine ambulatory care centers, 13 off-campus emergency centers, and a regional transfer center.
What you will do in this role:
Obtains all appropriate information required for the scheduling of outpatient procedures.
Ensures quality care to patients, adhering to policies, procedures, and standards.
Utilizes clerical skills efficiently in fulfilling position responsibilities.
Is able to handle a high volume workload accurately & handle high stress situations.
Proficient in utilization of computer systems to accomplish position responsibilities.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education.
Upholds the highest standards of customer service at all times ("customer" includes patients, family members, co-workers, referring physicians, etc.).
Actively participates in Performance Improvement (P.I.) activities established by the Imaging Department.
Possesses knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to work accurately within the Imaging Department.
Serves as a mentor and resource to less experienced staff/students.
What qualifications you will need:
High school graduate or equivalent
Formal or informal educational programs focusing on utilization of computer systems and word processing are preferred.
