Job Overview:
The Patient Scheduling Coordinator facilitates and navigates the patient calls,referral process, medical records, data entry, patient intake, hospital discharge scheduling, surgery scheduling, including a thorough explanation of processes to patients, with an end-focus on achieving or exceeding excellent patient scheduling goals.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Anticipate patient’s questions and concerns process and expertly navigate these, ultimately resulting in scheduling the patient
- Meet and exceed daily, monthly and quarterly productivity goals to achieve departmental objectives
- Establish a rapport with the patient to guarantee the highest level of quality care is received
- Overcome patient objections in order to achieve successful scheduling of the patient
- Successfully complete all outbound calls for assigned region, making multiple rounds of calls when feasible
- Master medical terminology and professional acumen to support the utilization of strategic scheduling practices
- May assist with intake of new orders and updates
- May assist with Verification of Benefits and follow up calls
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills in order to create positive experiences for both internal and external customers, which result in successful outcomes
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations, Company Confidentiality and Code of Conduct
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
- 2 consecutive years of previous physician scheduling experience is REQUIRED
Qualifications:
- Exemplary customer service skills and experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and have a strong attention to detail
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Able to work effectively within strict timelines
- Superior problem solving and critical thinking skills
Able to sit for extended periods of time
- Repetitive movement of fingers and hands

- Clarity of vision at 20 feet or less
