We are looking for a School Counselor in Greater Sacramento. This position is part-time at 15-20 hours per week.


Our School Counselors lend their professional services to identifying and providing support where students can thrive at school, in their home, and in the community. At TES, you will be a part of the solution, helping us achieve goals which allow all students to learn and thrive.

You will need the following minimum qualifications to be considered:

  • a Master’s degree in Counseling or a related field
  • a valid PPS (Pupil Personnel Services) credential in School or Educational Counseling
  • qualifying experience with learning disabilities, behavioral problems, and social / emotional disorders
  • proficiency in Google docs, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • hold appropriate automobile insurance with limits that allow driving personal vehicle for work
  • must clear a current background check through the FBI and DOJ
  • a current TB Test (within the last 6 months)
  • Covid Vaccine

As a School Counselor at TES, you will:

  • maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPPA and FERPA regulations.
  • maintain multiple student records across multiple technological formats.
  • speak to numerous clients and service providers on a daily basis.
  • consult with teachers and other school personnel regularly.
  • conduct observations and interviews with parents and teachers and review school records as needed.
  • serve as a member of an IEP team.
  • conduct in-service training and workshops for teachers and other school staff
  • serve as liaison between the student, home, school and community agencies.
  • act as a member of the school crisis team to provide intervention to students as necessary.
  • maintain accurate case records.
  • model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
  • understand and comply with all TES Protocols and Procedures in relation to job expectations.
  • maintain expertise in subject matter by continuing research, study, and application.

Environment & Physical Qualifications: Assigned work environments vary from site to site and may require services to be provided in a distance learning / therapy model. The work environment is usually comprised of several adults and children in a classroom, clinic, or campus facility with supervisors traveling to multiple sites/clinics. Due to varied work environments, an employee may encounter noise levels that are moderate to loud. In addition, the job functions could include the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
