Under the direction of Government, the Security Specialist will provide security services to the Security Manager in accordance with processes and procedures. The Security Specialist will be responsible for:
Conducting Semi-annual self-inspections, updating inspection checklists and reporting inspection results to Squadron and Group leadership.
Performing information security operations including TEMPEST inspections and personnel training, operations security management, and industrial security management. Maintaining security continuity book updates. Providing security reviews of test plans, test reports, appraisals, award nominations, test documentation and other documentation as required. Attending quarterly security meetings.
Processing proxy badge requests for physical entrance to the secure facility. In-processing and training new personnel on security policies and practices. Providing Document Destruction System (DDS) management to ensure unneeded documentation is destroyed properly by DDS or by shredder.
Processing visit requests for personnel, visits to outside agencies, and visitations from other organizations (including Foreign Nationals for approval) to secure facilities. Processing compelling need letters to allow disclosure of secure materials on a need-to-know basis, requests for equipment usage within the secure facilities, requests for courier cards and one-time courier authorization letters, and strict security requests for the introduction or the removal of vendor-owned equipment.
Providing thorough sanitization, serial number validation, and documentation of identified equipment for Defense Re-utilization and Marketing Office (DRMO). Maintaining secure facility visitation logs, conducting annual audits of entry credential and proxy badges, maintaining passwords and combinations of secure storage equipment and end-of-day SF Form 701s (security check forms).
Minimum Position Requirements
Bachelors or Masters and 6-8 years of experience to perform:
