The Edge Operations and Business Planning team is looking for an experienced Senior Business Planner - Growth & Strategy - responsible for leading growth measurement strategy, driving long-term impact, growing user engagement and monetization and finding meaningful elements of a customer’s journey to improve on. We are looking for someone with experience in bringing diverse data sources together in a cohesive, compelling, and actionable narrative, by collaborating with our Go to Market, Integrated Marketing, Engineering, Finance and Data Science partners.


They will work on reporting, data storytelling, and insights across acquisition, brand, and funnel performance. Next to developing the overall measurement strategy road-map based on the business objectives and key results (OKRs), they will drive and own Consumer lifetime value (LTV) / Return on Investment (ROI) models, user segmentation insights, recommendations, impact modeling and attribution of marketing and engineering growth levers. They will have an understanding of the fundamentals of reducing churn and be able to demonstrate proven impact driving incremental growth from initiatives being data driven and have a growth mindset.

Responsibilities

Partner across Business Planning, Product Marketing, Integrated Marketing, and Engineering, with the goal of building end-to-end marketing growth measurement plan inclusive of the business questions, attribution methodology, targets, user journey, and data sources.

  • Understand marketing trends, analyze user, product, and market trends to identify growth opportunities and recommend the right path forward for Microsoft.
  • Define measurement & analytics needs and drive the road-map to source & develop data sources to fulfill those needs by partnering with data sciences and engineering teams.
  • Propose and develop detailed models of channel attribution partnering with Data Science.
  • Work across engineering and data science teams to prioritize mobile app data pipeline and evolve measurement framework as well as monitor, analyze, and report on progress – including definition of key performance indicators (KPIs) and target setting for mobile campaigns.
  • Develop a learning plan and series of analysis, enabling the marketing teams to advance in areas of personalization and targeting, profitability and scale.
  • Create road-map for data collection to inform marketing performance and measurements.
  • Translate abstract questions into frameworks, creating action plans to deliver insights.
  • Propose A/B testing/measurement plans to drive growth.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, marketing analytics or related experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, Economics, Business, or related field
    • OR 6+ years product management, strategy consulting, finance, business/corporate development, or related experience AND Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Excellent quantitative modeling, statistical analysis experience and problem-solving.
  • Subject matter expert in marketing and analytical processes including cross channel measurement, AB testing, campaign health, budget allocation, assessing media impact, web analytics, funnel performance and mix analysis.
  • Proven business acumen and analytical mindset with a keen sense of urgency.
  • Robust understanding of data dashboard creation and design (Tableau, PowerBi, etc).
  • Robust understanding of Excel, SQL, Tableau, and/or PowerBi.
  • High level of comfort using different types of data to generate customer and business insights.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with partner teams towards common goals.
  • Articulate communicator with executive presence
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, engineering, marketing or business. MBA is a plus.
Business Planning IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 - $213,200 per year.
