Position summary:
Business Analysts are responsible for the collection, development, analysis, documentation, and communication of business needs and requirements. Throughout an assignment, Business Analysts may act like a liaison while they interface and work collaboratively with technology and business organizations. Business Analysts usually assess the needs of the assignment by directly interacting with management, leadership, technology, the business, and the customer. Business Analysts are also expected to use their working understanding of information systems, business operations, and processes to analyze requirements, develop specifications, storyboarding and prototyping to facilitate the design of integrated solutions.
SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST PROJECT COMPLEXITY:
- Performs work across multiple initiatives and processes.
- Supports and/or leads highly complex business/technical processes or multiple products, requiring design or integration of technical solutions across multiple departments or lines of business.
- Serves primarily as a subject matter expert and may lead projects of large scope and moderate to high complexity.
- Works independently and leverages resources when needed. Has an understanding of and an ability to apply knowledge of multiple technical business systems.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Providing technical expertise across business functions, understanding the relationship between the business and the data and technology that support the business or product.
- Responsible for managing the collection, analysis, documentation and coordination of multiple business and/or technical requirements which may include, but is not limited to:
p. Establishing relationships with one or more business partners by demonstrating expert knowledge of business processes/drivers and technical systems, being proactive, and managing the development and implementation of innovative solutions.
q. Providing technical coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members.
r. Proactively researches and applies Best Practices to technology solutions for areas of expertise.
s. Leading requirement gathering sessions with business partners to define needs to align with business priorities and assess impact on other business processes.
t. Advising business partners on options, technical limitations, risks and cost vs. benefits and ensuring a structured requirements process for the business is adhered to.
u. Leading the development, of structured requirements gathering through various techniques for the design and implementation of solutions.
v. Overseeing the documentation of requirements.
w. Participating in the development of prototypes.
x. May be accountable for a portion of a project plan in collaboration with project managers, from requirements phases through design, testing, implementation, and maintenance.
y. Acts as a resource to less experienced personnel in developing and executing test/use cases.
z. Participates, facilitates, and leads project meetings/sessions.
aa. Partners with technology development to provide a solution.
bb. May provide support through the warranty period.
Position Requirements:
- Typically requires 3+ years of relevant technical and business work experience.
- Requires /in-depth knowledge of business operations, requirements processing, business modeling concepts, information systems and project life-cycle knowledge, and business process development.
- Knowledge of Industry Business Analysis Best Practices (specifically working in an Agile environment) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in related field specialized training, certification, or equivalent work experience.
