In FTI Consulting's Corporate Finance & Restructuring organization, we focus on our clients' strategic, operational, financial and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional opportunities faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders.
Within FTI Consulting, the Retail and Consumer Products group is building a management consulting practice that transforms the financial and business performance of the industry's top players. We partner with our clients to solve their most critical opportunities and challenges ranging from strategic growth to performance improvement.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing and dynamic team, with unlimited opportunities for professional development and hands-on training and coaching from our experienced leadership team. You will be given the opportunity to lead project based workstreams and have the added responsibility of managing more junior staff.
In addition, you will be able to contribute directly to the building of the team through business development initiatives, such as creating pitch decks, drafting Thought Leadership articles and helping manage the recruiting process. Our small but growing team provides successful candidates the opportunity to frequently participate in new experiences and develop outside their client work.

What You'll Do
Senior Consultants are critical team members that execute client engagements and successfully partner with clients in delivery. Key responsibilities for this position include:
- Proactively develop solutions to problems through management interviews, data analysis, site observations, and other applicable strategies
- Disaggregate complex business problems, manage ambiguity, and navigate through adverse situations to develop hypotheses-focused analyses and recommendations
- Examples of typical project focus areas include:
- SG&A Cost Reduction
- Business Plan Review
- Store labor and retail operations optimization
- SKU / vendor profitability and rationalization
- Inventory optimization
- Direct procurement costing
- Customer and channel profitability
- Develop original insights and recommendations and prepare clear, well written documents to facilitate discussions with clients and drive impact
- Communicate and present work product, analyses, and recommendations to senior leaders and to clients
- Support full range of project management responsibilities, including managing deadlines, staff hours and expectations (status reports, agendas, data room, report assembly, etc.)
- Participate in business development activities, creating proposals, developing company perspectives, and researching industry trends
- Contribute to internal practice development tasks such as learning & development, recruiting, and knowledge repositories including case studies, toolkits, playbooks, etc.
- Support consultants and other senior consultants

Basic Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree with emphasis on Finance, Supply Chain, Data Analysis, or another technical field (MBA preferred)
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with either a management consulting firm, a top-tier retail / consumer products company, a private equity firm, or an investment bank
- Preferred experience working with Retail or Consumer Products companies supporting cost optimization, process improvement, or key functional activities (e.g., Supply Chain, Merchandising, Finance)
- Experience with review and analysis of key financial statements
- Excellent analytical skills, with proven experience in data cleansing, building models, distilling insights, and creating recommendations to resolve complex problems
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills; particularly with Excel and PowerPoint
- Preferred experience with various tools such as Access / SQL, Excel Macro / VBA, Think-cell, and/or Tableau or other business analytics tools
- Strong project planning and time management; ability to work with limited supervision on assigned workstreams
- Demonstrated passion for driving change and ability to drive impact for clients
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including collaborative work style, problems solving and conceptual thinking skills
- Desire to act as mentors for more junior colleagues
- Ability to travel up to 80%
