Summary:
Under the general direction of the Vice President of Programs, the Senior Director is responsible for fiscal and programmatic oversight, including budget management, staff supervision, capacity-building, grants/contract compliance, and performance management to ensure delivery of high-quality senior services programs to eligible residents of the greater San Antonio area. The Senior Director will oversee two federal grant programs, Foster Grandparent Program and Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP); along with other senior services programs and initiatives including Adopt-A-Senior program. Their goal will be to increase the impact the agency makes on older adults and expand programming by building capacity.
Position Responsibilities:
Administration:
- *Develop and maintain a productive work environment and manage administrative functions
- *Develop and maintain program budget in consultation with appropriate staff members
- *Responsible for compliance to federal grant regulations including programmatic and fiscal oversight
- *Responsible for on-going monitoring of program budgets and expenses, including budget revisions when appropriate
- *Ensure program compliance with policies, procedures, and performance outcomes established by funders, accrediting bodies, and Catholic Charities.
- *Prepare performance, fiscal, and statistical reports for necessary positions, funding sources, and other external stakeholders
- Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders
Program Management:
- *Oversee day-to-day operations of Senior Services programs
- *Develop program-wide and individualized work plans and training plans to ensure high-quality service delivery and to develop staff competencies
- *Ensure maintenance of confidential files and record-keeping systems.
- *Identify, gather and analyze data relative to local trends, and needs of the community in regards to older adults
- *Develop and monitor systems for efficient workflow and financial tracking
- *Prepare grant applications and implement grant-funded projects
- *Enhance management and leadership skills through participation in meetings, seminars, and conferences
- Other duties as assigned
Outreach/Relationships:
- *Represent Catholic Charities in an appropriate and professional manner to external stakeholders
- *Develop and maintain contacts with stakeholders in the social service and education fields
- *Develop and maintain relationship with funders, non-governmental, and governmental entities
- *Conduct presentations in a variety of community settings to recruit volunteers
- *Participate in community committees/coalitions as appropriate
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- * This position is responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of all staff under their supervision and will make recommendations for termination of employees.
- * To develop and implement employee development plans for program employees.
- Ensure staff compliance with program policies and procedures
- Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Programs, Chief Operating Officer, or CEO.
Minimum Qualifications:
- EducationBachelors or Master’s degree preferred in social service field or business-related field.
- ExperienceMinimum of 4 years’ experience in relevant program administration with at least 2 years of experience in social services.
- License and CredentialsReliable transportation
Valid driver license
Valid vehicle insurance
Certification in an evidence based or promising practice model preferred
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in social service setting including grant application work, and conducting individual supervision and development training;
- Extensive working knowledge of child development, and positive parenting techniques;
- Experience with computer software and Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Publisher)
- A solid grasp of trauma informed care and ability to problem solve;
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
- Must have good written and verbal skills;
- Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Travel Requirements:
Travel requirements for the position includes 90% local and 10% overnight.
